Being a cleaning company in Denver provides us with certain tips and tricks that our staff finds and uses to really help out the process of cleaning. From walls to showers to carpets, we find that some hints are invaluable. We have included some of our favorites that we have learned here to help you in those times that fall in between our visits to your home:
1.Removing candy stains from carpets: you will first want to scrape up any excess candy with a spoon, and then you can use a sponge and warm water. After blotting the stain, if it does not come up with just water, mix one teaspoon of a mild non-alkaline non-bleaching detergent into a cup of warm water. Blot this solution onto the stain. You can then mix 1/3 cup of white vinegar with 2/3 cup water, and blot the stain with this solution. Rinse and dry.
2. Use a newspaper wadded up in your hand to clean windows, other glass, and mirrors. It is very absorbent and will not leave all those tiny pieces of lint that paper towels do. Newspaper does a very good job getting fingerprints and grime off, and no, the ink from the newspaper will not come off on your surfaces!
3.There are three super solutions that will take good care of your stainless steel: club soda, olive oil, and vinegar. You can rub stainless steel with olive oil and a very soft cloth to remove the streaks that often plague steel. The vinegar is an optimal solution to clean and polish your stainless steel. Moisten a cloth with white or cider vinegar that is undiluted, then just wipe clean! Vinegar can also be used to get rid of those heat stains that are often found on stainless steel cutlery. The club soda is also effective for removing the heat stain and streaks on stainless steel as well!
4.Cleaning grout can be one of the hardest jobs because the porous nature of it allows dirt and grime to just seep right into it. Wash white grout with a solution of two tablespoons of bleach in one quart of warm water. Dry completely, and apply three coats of lemon oil. In between the coats, let the lemon oil dry for an hour. Never use bleach on colored grout. To remove mildew, sponge with a solution of some ammonia and water.
